Rationale behind injustice, oppression, etc

Bismillah Hirrahmaa Nirrahim (In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)
Praise be to Allah,
As we live on the face of this earth, we get a lot of questions in our mind specially when we are serious or are hurt. The questions could be anything from Why do cheaters win? Why do strong people crush or exploit the poors? Why does the rich keeps on becoming more rich by using the wrong mean? to Does God exist?
All of the above questions can be summarized by one question and that is -
“If God exists, why do people prosper using the wrong mean?”
And ya.. thats fair. If God exists, why does he allow wrongdoers to prosper! Why doesn’t he clean this earth and make everyone good!
I guess, even I pondered on these questions a lot during my lifetime. I mostly posed this questions to my parents and few spiritual people around me but didn’t get a convincing answer. InshaAllah, in this article I am going to talk about the answer to these questions.

Purpose of our existence (The why behind our creation)
Before we get to the answers of big questions listed above, let us take a few minutes in understanding why are we all here? why have god created us?
“[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving” (Qur’an Ch: 67 V: 2)
So, Allah SWT says that Allah SWT gave us this limited life on earth to test which one of us is best in deeds. The test of a ruler is to rule justly, the test of a rich is to spend reasonably, the test of the poor is to be patient and so on.
Allah says, he will reward (either in this world or in the hereafter) the one who passes the test in this world and will punish the one who fails.
“Say: shall I give you glad tidings of things far better than those? For the righteous are Gardens in nearness to their Lord with rivers flowing beneath; therein is their eternal home; with companions pure (and holy) and the good pleasure of Allah. For in Allah’s sight are (all) His servants.” (Qur’an Ch: 3 V:15)
“As to those who deny the Signs of Allah, and in defiance of right, slay the Prophets, and slay those who teach just dealing with mankind, announce to them a grievous penalty. (Qur’an Ch: 3 V: 21)

Man was created weak
Allah SWT says that he doesn’t want to burden man but he wants to make life easy for him by laying down the rules like worship Allah alone, be honest, be truthful, respect your parents, be thankful, don’t hurt other, etc etc
“And Allah wants to lighten for you [your difficulties]; and mankind was created weak.” (Qur’an Ch: 4 V: 28)

Blaming others
Being weak, we have got the habit of blaming others for whatever is happening to us. If we fall we curse the floor, if we loose a case in the court we blame the advocate or the judge, we blame the government for various reasons but fail to realize that we elected it so we should blame ourselves rather than others. Allah SWT asks us to work/strive for the betterment, as is mentioned in the following verse -
“And whosoever striveth, striveth only for himself, for lo! Allah is altogether Independent of (His) creatures.” (Qur’an Ch: 29 V: 6)

How does God punish the oppressor by letting him oppress people?
I know you might be thinking that how does Allah SWT punish the oppressor by letting them oppress people. Lets take this one now, first of all understand that Allah SWT is not unjust in the least degree.
“Allah is never unjust in the least degree: if there is any good (done) He doubleth it, and giveth from His own presence a great reward.” (Qur’an Ch: 4 V: 40)
“Allâh mocks at them and gives them increase in their wrong-doings to wander blindly.” (Qur’an Ch: 2 V: 15)
What a miraculous verse. Take some time and think about it.
Allah SWT in order to punish them more lets them do their wrongdoing. SubhanAllah!
So if the oppressor is becoming more powerful and doing more harm, understand that Allah is punishing him. And if you look at the history, you will realize that the oppressors have continued to oppress others till a point that people started thinking that these oppressors will never perish and no one can destroy them but thats when Allah SWT raised a righteous person and he destroyed the oppressor.
Allah SWT makes these oppressors and the righteous man an example so that people can learn from the history and look up to get guidance InshaAllah.
I will not quote history to all of you, I will instead leave it for you all to research.
May Allah SWT help us to reflect over the lessons he teaches us. Ameen!

The decision of Hajj: My Journey to Hajj with My Father

<Thanks to my wife for this sketch> Since I can remember, my mother had always expressed her deep desire to embark on the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj. It was a dream she held close to her heart since her childhood, an aspiration she longed to fulfill. Despite traveling outside India to places like Canada, Singapore and Malaysia, she yearned for Hajj to be her first journey beyond the borders of her homeland. However, as the saying goes, "We plan and Allah also plans, and He is the best planner" (Quran 8:30). Allah had different plans for my mother. A few years later, she passed away, and the opportunity to fulfil her lifelong dream of Hajj slipped away. Her departure left a void in our lives, and my father's health began to deteriorate. In 2018, my father suffered a severe heart attack, and the doctors were uncertain if he would survive. By the grace of Allah, he pulled through, defying the odds. As his health remained fragile, the weight of my mother's unfulfille...

Preparing for Hajj: The Physical Fitness

Bismillah ir Rahman ir Rahim (In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful) "And those who strive for Us — We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good." — [Surah Al-Ankabut, 29:69] Assalamu Alaikum everyone, In my last blog, I shared how I made the decision to perform Hajj with my father. Today, I want to take you through our preparation process, which was a crucial part of the journey. Preparation for Hajj is key to ensuring a successful pilgrimage, and it’s something that ideally begins as soon as one embraces Islam or if you are an existing muslim, whenever you reach adulthood. However, it’s never too late to start — once you make the intention or book your trip, the preparation should begin right away. For us, preparation for Hajj was a process that had been unfolding since my childhood. My mother used to constantly narrate the stories of Hajj and Madinah, and my father did the same. These stories planted a seed of excitement a...

A School Event and a Wake-Up Call: Teaching Our Kids About Salah

Bismillah ir Rehman ir Raheem   (In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful). "Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter. These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper." (Quran 31:4-5) Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a function at my kids’ school that resembled an Anand Mela . It was a vibrant event where students set up stalls to sell homemade food items and organize games. The school had done an excellent job of organising the event, with staff members guiding groups of 3 to 4 students at each stall. The food options were delightful—paani puri, shawarma, chicken roast, veg burgers—and the games were just as engaging, from tossing balls into glasses to catching (toy) fish within a time limit. We attended the event as a family, and Alhamdulillah, we had a great time. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy, creating cheri...
