BismillAllah HirRahman IRahim (In the name of Allah, Most Beneficent, Most Merciful.)
What do we do when we get to know something that is good? We share it. Right? We invite other to it. Right?
Remember the last time you saw a good movie or heard a good song… What do we do, we ask our friends if they have seen it. If not, we tell them that they must have a look at it. Thats the natural human attitude, isn't it?
Also, remember how we complain to our friends when they know something that could have helped us but they never told us about it. This is the very basic expectation that we have from our friends, isn't it?
And on top of that, if we come to know something that our friend is doing which is going to harm him; what do we do? We warn them about it, right?
InshaAllah, this article of mine is about the same. Before my friends and you all complain, let me share with you all that which I have found good and that which is beneficial for you all.
“Verily, those who conceal the clear proofs, evidences and the guidance, which We have sent down, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allâh and cursed by the cursers.Except those who repent and do righteous deeds, and openly declare (the truth which they concealed). These, I will accept their repentance. And I am the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful” (Qur'an Ch: 2 V:159-160)
The Warning
Allah SWT also warns us that if we worship false Gods (i.e. anybody other than the one true God), He is going to throw us in Hell Fire.
"...Whoever joins other gods with Allah―Allah will forbid him the Garden and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help." (Qur'an Ch:5 V:72)
The Love
The verse I quoted above scares the hell out of me. Just imagine, HELL FIRE!!!!
If I am walking with my friends and I see a pot hole, I immediately warn them about it otherwise they may trip over it and fall, injuring their legs. How can I not warn you all for something as big as hell fire!!!!!
The Hell Fire
Just read the description of the Hell and I am sure you will understand my restlessness in writing this article for my loved ones.
"...fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones,- which is prepared for those who reject Faith" (Qur'an Ch: 2 V :24).
"...Enough is Hell for a burning fire. Those who reject Our Signs, We shall soon cast into the Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty. For Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise" (Qur'an ch: 4 V :55-56)
Can you imagine to be burnt many many times with fresh skins. Just remember the last time we touch something really hot and what was our reaction. Allah SWT says, he will change the burnt skin to a new one to burn it again.
There are other verses in the Holy Qur'an describing Hell. I don't intent to scare you all but do read the description for better understanding here.
The only Chance
This life is our only chance, we are not going to get this life back after death and who knows when will death overcome us. So act now else it will be never.
"And those who followed would say: "If only we had one more chance, we would clear ourselves of them as they have cleared themselves of us." Thus will Allah show them (the fruits of) their deeds as (nothing but) regrets nor will there be a way for them out of the fire." (Qur'an Ch: 2 V :167)
Who is Allah?
Allah SWT says that we can call him by any name but we should make sure that its a beautiful name and refers to him alone and can't be used for anyone else -
"Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names…" (Qur'an Ch:17 V:110)
Just to know a little bit more about Allah -
"Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous." (Qur'an Ch:2 V: 255)
Allah SWT also give us the test to call someone as Allah. This chapter of the holy Qur'an is also called as the touchstone of theology.
"Say: He is Allah, the One!
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begetteth not nor was begotten.
And there is none comparable unto Him." (Qur'an Ch: 112)
Be just to yourself
One might wonder that what about our tradition. I am asking, haven't we forsaken most of that for better life and career so why hesitate further?
As I said in the beginning, I am conveying this because I feel this is not just good but best for all of us. Allah SWT has made it mandatory to share the good things to others (refer the verse quoted in the beginning) but, I am not asking you to follow it blindly.
We find a lot of people who ask us to follow their religion claiming it to be the only right religion but one may ask if all of them claim that their religion is right then which one should I follow?
What we need to realize is that religion is not something that is invented by man, it is revealed by God so we should always learn religion from the books of the religion and not from anyone. Thus, be just to yourself; pick up the religious book of all the religion (at least the major religions), find out the things that are common and at least practice that. And if you do so then no one can anymore tell you that you are following the wrong faith.
Are you thinking that its very difficult and impossible for you to read the religious scripture! Well just think for a moment, get into a flash back.... you will realize that we have studied all the heavy, big, huge & difficult books for our studies till now, just to have a better future in this world. Studying few more book for an eternal life shouldn't be difficult at all.
What will I get for following a religion or worshiping only one God?
